Kevin Murdock —
The Bankruptcy —
What Caused It and Why Context Matters.

In January 2025, Kevin S. Murdock filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The coverage of that filing omits virtually everything that preceded it — a 15-year operating history, a six-lab network across five states, a $51 million investment endorsed by the South Carolina Governor, and a federal prosecution that targeted one lab in a six-lab network where the CDC itself used the identical methodology.

The Timeline

What Actually Happened — In Order

A bankruptcy doesn't happen in a vacuum. Here is the documented, chronological record of what was built, what was achieved, and what federal prosecution did to it.

Kevin S. Murdock graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. Gold Star recognition for academic achievement. Walk-on soccer. Early graduate. Shannon Forest Christian School before that.

Six Labs Across Five States
Diversified Medical Healthcare operated six independently licensed, CLIA-certified laboratories: Premier Medical (Greenville SC), First Medical (Irving TX), Dynasty Medical (Hurricane UT), Meta Lab DX (Charlotte NC), Synapse Analytical (Raleigh NC), American Genetics Institute (Delray Beach FL). 2023–2024
Federal Prosecution Targets Premier Medical
Federal prosecution targeted one lab in a six-lab network. The methodology in question — pooled COVID-19 testing — is the same methodology the CDC itself deployed nationally through the same eTrueNorth contractor pathway, as documented in MMWR Vol. 70, No. 49. Five of the six DMH labs were never subject to enforcement action. Four of those five also ran COVID testing.

Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Filed
Kevin S. Murdock filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy — a direct consequence of the federal prosecution terminating the operating businesses that constituted Diversified Medical Healthcare. A company that had $51M invested, 450 employees, and a Governor’s endorsement 36 months earlier was forced to wind down because the prosecution made continued operation untenable.
The Context

What the Bankruptcy Coverage Omits

A bankruptcy filing is a public document. It tells you what someone owes. It does not tell you how they got there, what they built, or what was done to them. Here is the context.

$51M
The Business Was Viable
In February 2022 — 36 months before the bankruptcy filing — the SC Governor’s office endorsed a $51 million expansion creating 185 new jobs. The SC Secretary of Commerce went on the record. This was not a failing business. This was a business that was destroyed by prosecution.

One Lab Targeted in a Six-Lab Network
Diversified Medical Healthcare operated six independently licensed, CLIA-certified laboratories across five states. The prosecution focused on Premier Medical in Greenville, SC. The other five labs — including four that ran COVID testing — were never subject to enforcement action.
CDC
The CDC Used the Same Method
The CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, Vol. 70, No. 49 (December 10, 2021), documents the CDC deploying the identical pooled-testing methodology through the same eTrueNorth contractor pathway. This is a federal public health record. It is not in dispute.

No Finding of Wrongdoing
Kevin’s attorney has stated on the public record that the Consent Judgment does not include any finding or admission of wrongdoing on Kevin’s part. The resolution was entered solely to avoid the cost, time, and uncertainty of a lengthy trial.
